Director

 Jocelyn Tozier  has been with the IHCNS since 2014. Jocelyn attended University of Dayton and received her Masters of Science in Education with a focus in early childhood education and intervention specialist.  Jocelyn also holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from  The Ohio State University.  Jocelyn has worked in the field of early childhood education since 2004,  starting out her career as an infant teacher in Columbus, Ohio. Since then Jocelyn has taught toddler and preschool children as well. In addition to teaching, Jocelyn was an  Educational Coordinator and Preschool Director before becoming the School Director at IHCNS.

Teachers and Teaching Assistants

 

Melanie Elkin, Fours Teacher and Extended Day Teacher, joined the IHCNS staff in 1996.  Melanie holds a Bachelor of Music from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.  She is certified in Preventive Intervention Techniques and is a registered Music Therapist.  Melanie, an Indian Hill native, is an avid knitter — you may have seen her at “Fiberlicious” in Madeira.  She is a tax specialist with H&R Block and is active with Knox Presbyterian Church.

Barbara Mueller,Threes and Twos Teacher, joined the Nursery School staff in 2016.Barb has a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cincinnati as well as 22 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. Barbara’s philosophy of teaching is that children learn best when given a hands on environment that provides them the opportunity to develop skills emotionally, socially and academically.

Tracy DiGennaro, Rising Fives Teacher, is a mother of seven, all of whom attended IHCNS!  Tracy holds a B.S. from Miami University and an MEd. in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati. For the last six years she has been employed by the Indian Hill School District as a substitute teacher, working in the Primary and Elementary  schools.  For the last ten years she has worked as a religious education teacher for middle and high school students.  She enjoys all things creative, spending time with her family, the outdoors and volunteer work.

A mother of four with a B.A. from the University of Cincinnati,Sally Luther, Rising 5  Teacher Assistant and Extended Day Teacher , lives in Madeira with her husband, Phil. She has a long association with IHCNS starting in 1997 when her daughter was enrolled in the three-year old program. Sally enjoys bicycling, swimming and walking her dogs along with reading, cooking and gardening. She cooks and volunteers her time for a homeless shelter in downtown Cincinnati.

Kathy Ottenjohn, an Indian Hill native, has a long association with the IHCNS both as a parent and a staff member since 1993.  Currently, Kathy is the Threes Teacher  and the school Administrative Assistant and Extended Day Teacher.  She holds an Associate Degree in Retail and Business from New Hampshire College.  Kathy has a variety of interests, which include cooking, needlepoint, outdoor activities, summering in the Adirondacks and spending time with her family.

Tracy PalutaTracy Paluta joined the staff in 1998 and currently is the Friday Enrichment Teacher  and the School Shopper.  During her time at the IHCNS, Tracy has also taught the three-year-old program and co-taught the Preschool Plus class.  Tracy is happy to be a teaching assistant as it allows her time for her family and volunteering.  Her volunteer efforts have taken her to Russia numerous times and most recently to Jamaica.  Tracy is a Madeira native and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Learning Disabilities.

Madeira native, Jeri Parker, joined the IHCNS staff in 2005.  She currently is a Fours  Teacher and Friday Enrichment Teacher and has previously been a teaching assistant in the four-year-old class.  Jeri received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Miami University and taught first grade before joining the nursery school staff.  She enjoys volunteering and is active in her church.

Shelley Johnston, Fours Teacher Assistant, joined IHCNS in 2014. Shelley  is a mother of 2 who both attended IHCNS starting in the toddler program in 2009. She has always given her extra time to the school from helping with thanksgiving feast , making gingerbread houses, to just being there with an extra hand when needed! She also volunteers at St Gertrude school in the classroom and in the cafeteria. Shelley loves spending time in the kitchen, entertaining, and spending time with her family playing games.
torieSTAFFTorie Schellhas, Twos  Teacher, and a IHCNS parent, joined the staff in 2013.  Torie graduated from University of Kentucky with a degree in Elementary Education.  Prior to joining the staff, Torie taught Kindergarten, first and second grade at the Seven Hills Lotspeich School, before becoming a full time mom of 3.  A Cincinnati native, she enjoys running, crafts, soccer, outdoor activities and spending time with her family
Alice Drake, Threes Teacher Assistant, joined the IHCNS staff in 2015. Alice is a native Cincinnati who holds a B.A in English from the University of Cincinnati. Alice was so impressed with IHCNS after her daughters attended the preschool that she came back to work as a teacher assistant. She is an avid reader and sports mom who can be seen frequently walking her two dogs.
Janet Maly Twos and Threes Teacher Assistant, joined the IHCNS staff in 2017.  Janet is the mother of four and grandmother of twelve. Prior to coming to IHCNS Janet worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at a Preschool in the Cincinnati area. Janet enjoys knitting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Anna Hall Fours Teacher Assistant, joined  IHCNS staff 2018. Anna  graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Elementary Education. Prior to coming to IHCNS Anna , worked at camp Stepping Stones for six years and after graduation and  Cincinnati Center for Autism. In her free time she greatly enjoys cooking, volunteering, and training her Australian Shepherd puppy. Anna’s mission when  working with children focuses on teaching through play, increasing independence and for every child to live a happy meaningful life they are proud of.
